Marianne’s Surgery
Please pray for our daughter-in-law, Marianne Street (24 yrs. old), who will be having surgery to remove 2 cysts on her left ovary. The two cysts are (combined) about the size of a softball. The surgery will be on Tuesday, Oct. 24th at 1 pm.

The Nine
We are so excited to tell you that nine former JET summer mission trip participants are attending Bible School programs this fall. Please keep them in your prayers! They are: Abigail B., Antoine J., Benjamin B., Christine F., Emilie B., Joshua R., Olivia B., Sasha R., and our son Isaiah. That brings the total to 96 young people that we have worked with since our arrival in Quebec that have gone on to at least one year of bible school! Praise the Lord!

Capture the Flag!
Thank you for praying for our Capture the Flag youth evangelistic event on Friday, September 29th. It was a huge success! We had a number of new visitors, lots of fun, delicious bonfire food (hotdogs & marshmallows!), and a message that challenged the kids to think about their lives in view of eternity. Please continue to pray for all kids that hearad the message.

Fun with Chainsaws!
On October 7th we organized our first youth ministry service activity of the ‘17-‘18 school year. We had a great time helping a local Christian family that had a large quantity of trees fall on their property last winter. We spent the entire morning cutting wood and burning branches!

JET: The Next Step…
In 2002 we started our French-speaking mission organization, JET: Jusqu’aux Extrémités de la Terre (“To the ends of the earth”) in view of mobilizing a generation of young people to go out into the harvest. Since that time we have taken over 400 French-Canadians on 18 foreign mission trips and seen 13 young people with whom we have worked go into full-time Christian ministry. Moreover, as you just read in this newsletter, we have had the joy of seeing nearly 100 young people attend a Bible institute somewhere in the world. Furthermore, about 50 young people have participated in our world missions seminar given bi-annually in French. After much prayer and consideration, we believe that God is leading us to start a one-year training program to teach young people the Bible and a biblical philosophy of missions.

How will it be organized? The program will involve weekly Bible classes and Christian service from September – March each year here in Quebec City. From April – July of each year, we intend to send students out in groups of 2-4 to partner with missionaries in another part of the world. (They will continue their weekly classes by being taught over the internet.) Our teen summer mission trips will continue as usual.

What is needed? We believe that we will need property, a building, and people to assist us who are committed to the vision of mobilizing a generation of young people ready to take the Good News to a world so greatly in need of the peace that only Jesus Christ can give.

God’s plan: At the current moment our Bible & Mission Program has no land, no building, no workers, and a sum total of $240. We estimate that it will take about a million dollars to get everything set up. We are only interested in participating in such a project if it is the will of God – so, we ask you to pray that God would provide for this project according to his exact will! We only seek his will in this – and will be very happy with whatever he chooses! Thank you for your prayers!

Bringing the Bible to Life
Thank you for your prayers for our youth Bible study on the book of 1 John. It was a big success. During the months of Oct / Nov we will be studying “The Bible & Money” (4 weeks) and “The Life of Solomon” (4 weeks). Please pray that God would work in the life of each person present for these studies. Also, please pray for the four new young people that have been added to the group over the last four weeks!

June 30th, 2018
Our son, Andrew (22) & his fianée, Noémie Rivera have set their wedding date for June 30th, 2018. Please pray for them as they make all the necessary preparations for the wedding festivities and their move to the USA next August (for Andrew to attend seminary.)

Who’s for Lunch?
Thank you for your continued prayers for me over this fall as I continue to meet with many people for lunch to encourage them in their faith, answer their questions, and pray with them. I am right on schedule!

We continue in our coaching role of Pastor Hindor & Kristina Duggan. The new church constitution has been adopted and we are looking forward to seeing what God is planning to do in and through Hope Church. Please pray for new families with children to whom we might be able to minister.
